Cajun Blackening

$8.49

Whether Cajun cooking is a staple in your kitchen or something you’re just discovering, this seasoning offers endless ways to use it. It works equally well as a bold blackening spice or a versatile all-purpose seasoning.
Use it to make Cajun fries, or season burgers, steaks, and catfish. A good rule of thumb is 1 teaspoon per pound of meat. It’s also excellent sprinkled over vegetables, salads, or eggs. For extra heat, add ½ to 2 teaspoons of cayenne to ¼ cup of seasoning to create a hotter Cajun blackening blend.

About this blend

Cajun blackening originated in Louisiana in the 1980s, popularized by chef **Paul Prudhomme** to highlight bold Cajun flavors. The technique uses a very hot cast-iron skillet to sear seasoned food, creating the signature **dark, flavorful crust** that defines blackened dishes.

How to use

Use this Cajun seasoning to make blackened chicken, blackened catfish, or to add bold flavor to burgers. For a quick spicy remoulade, mix 1–2 Tbsp Cajun seasoning with 1/2 cup mayo, 1/4 cup ketchup, and 2 tsp Dijon mustard.
